    Let's see your dog

I’ll leave them all as thumbnails, this is my friend Mimi. She has been with us through thick and thin, and now unfortunately she only has me left. She a empath, as many of them are, so my loss of my wife was her loss too. Pic 3 is when she was pretty young and discovered she doesn’t like...

    What did you buy today?

Depends on what I’ve eaten really. Nah, there’s a bit of smell on extinguishing but that’s about it. I run it with the window open a crack, and when I turn it off I put the extractor fan on to pull the smell out. Gotta use C1 paraffin though, or it will stink and give off particulates.

    Replacement Silky Blades.

I haven’t had the chance to delve much deeper than my old emails, but there were a few Japanese sellers on eBay. Ok, this was 10 years ago, but it might be worth a look?

    What did you buy today?

Keeps my tea warm while I have a ‘sit down’ in the bathroom too ;) Seems you pay an extra £100 for the cool top version.

    Normark Super Swede?

Not too sure, but the handle on mine was definitely not a hard plastic, it was grippy stuff like on the EKA Swedes.

Utility Knives and Multitools – Are they Legal for Camping?

Same if you took the blade out of any knife really. Technically a SAK blade without the handle to fold into could be called a fixed blade. It’s just inventing scenarios, there’s no point to it, and certainly no point in thinking lawmakers are going to give a Svord Peasant or friction folder much...

    What did you buy today?

    No, it’s a cheaper model than that, 241. https://dry-it-out.com/product/tosai-241-2-2kw-liquid-fuel-heater/

    Normark Super Swede?

Super Swede was rubber handled. On the lock, definitely. I got cut pretty badly poking an old oak window frame to see how far through the rot had gone. Me pushing the knife released the blade, I reckon it’s a truly stupid place to put a lock.

    What did you buy today?

16l of Paraffin Extra. I thought I had 6 cans of the stuff and bought a Tosai domestic heater for the bathroom but what I had was 2 cans of the ultra low odour Extra and a sealed box of Barrattine stinky stuff. Not sure what to do with the Barrattine, but there’s no way I’m burning it in...

Well, assuming it’s night time, the instrument is stringed, and you decide to play the stereotypical religious song associated with music at camp and never, ever heard anywhere except American teen films then yes. I took my wife’s ashes to scatter last May, and happened on a small acoustic...

Just as part of the interest in nature and sound, this pic turned up yesterday.

I am yeah, but I did return the first pair. I reckon any instrument, ideally, needs to be a try and buy, but the only shops I’ve been to that sell these types of things are in Glastonbury town and I have reasons not to want to be there at the moment. @FerlasDave, I have two or three of them. A...

Ok, let’s see how well this works. Pretty sure the forum software need me to host vids elsewhere so I’ve bunged it on youtube. Turn your monitor up, I could hear the tone for a good 30 seconds. There’s strong evidence as to why tone is used in ritual, whether that be a concert, festival...

    Normark Super Swede?

There’s a tribute, if it’s the design you want rather than a Normark. https://www.thebushcraftstore.co.uk/tbs-sabretooth-folding-lock-knife---black-micarta-63975-p.asp

No, I didn’t pay such a large amount, I used that site as they have recordings. You can easily pay 3 or 4 times that amount if you want some made on the full moon. I think although they’re not out to rip people off, there’s an element of seeing you coming.

Awake due to hammering rain and so I’m having a cup of tea. I ought to be gently reading really rather than screen time. Occasionally I have some tingsha bells. The chime is incredibly pure and clean, there are a few on this site with recordings, mine are plain flying saucer shape as above and...

    What did you buy today?

Steeldive SD1957, ‘No Time To Die’ Omega Seamaster homage. Doesn’t sit well with the 2 layers of traditional NATO under it as it’s quite rounded and thick, so I’ve put it on a 2 piece yellow for now and ordered a 2 piece Bond and a couple of other straps. It might sound like I’m a huge Bond...

What fungi did you spot today?

Still a few of these about, this one was huge. Dropped a pic of his Lordship in, he was pretty majestic.
