    Dead mouse in my Kelly

I’m not someone who tastes mice. I must say I like @Tony idea best, another handful of mice for depth of flavour and a splash of dry sherry or vermouth. ;) The grit idea makes the most sense, the only thing I clean the kitchen sink and taps with is Cif because it’s abrasive.

    I have a Good Camera

Ah, she. She’s a Sheela-Na-Gig. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheela_na_gig There’s much argument to the meaning, some suggest she is the The Crone or the Hag, some suggest she represents spiritual rebirth, and the more extreme to the dangers of sinful women, which is unlikely IMO, 12th...

    I have a Good Camera

Like an imp. One of the Grey Men? It’s a Wiltshire church too, lot of that sort of thing about in Wilts. Do you know anything more about it?

Bear Grylls. Rate him or slate him?

I asked him the same after receiving an unsolicited and rude PM telling me to mind my own business. I still see this thread getting binned like all the others.

Bear Grylls. Rate him or slate him?

The Grylls thing has come up in here many times, always ends up in a Mears/Grylls controversy and argument and never ends well. I can’t see this thread going anywhere productive at all, in fact I see it inciting an argument. If you’re doing research, have you tried using the search engine?

    Let's see your dog

Eau de Doe. Wasn’t too bad, not like fox, Mimi prefers the lighter, grassy turd perfumes rather than the real stinkers. Her idea of the perfect supermodel set to look and smell wonderful :rolleyes2:

    Let's see your dog

Mine likes a bit of leaping too :) Watching Nautilus, she likes the Border Terrier. When he runs out of shot she looks behind the tv.

I have given up on sanity

Annoyingly, that Casio above is one of those that picks up time signal automatically, and you’ll see it’s running in DST on the display. So, there’s no way I’m learning how to do the button presses to sort that out. I ran it with Paris as my location last time I tried changing it, it’s too much...

    Alternatives to ventile?

I had a No 8 and it’s not in the slightest bit waterproof, only the shoulders are treated, there’s a ton of work to get that to UK wet weather standard, it’s for dry snow, and you’re paying for the name. They do look fantastic though, so you’ll be cool, and wet. :D You’d have liked the Twodogs...

    Alternatives to ventile?

If you’re looking to make a smock then perhaps we’re a bit at cross purposes here, but no harm in thinking about alternatives. Ventile, waxed cotton or plastic fabric won’t breathe when wet. Totally waterproof outer layer is fabric of choice for fishermen and sailors, and trawler men work long...

I have given up on sanity

Couldn’t resist, turned up on NewsThump today.:) https://newsthump.com/2024/10/28/country-loses-half-a-million-man-hours-trying-to-change-the-time-on-the-nations-ovens-2/

I have given up on sanity

Agree with the second paragraph, but I had a long Sunday when I looked at my analogue watch and got up to take the dog out. Wondered where everyone was! There’s no way I’d get in the habit of knocking an hour off each time I looked. Probably Tengu’s dad’s had his eye on something he fancies...

    Alternatives to ventile?

That’s an informative read, thanks for backing up your post with it. My Keela Falkland is ancient, been washed several times, and good as gold in the wet. So the cotton is doing what it’s supposed to do, and swell. I doubt very much any of the original coating remains, a raindrop sinks in...

I have given up on sanity

I reckon that’s a superb idea and run a similar system. This Casio is a cheap thing, fine for hols or possibly losing somewhere during summer. I have zero idea how to get it to change itself an hour back except that it’ll involve a headache of button pressing.

    What did you buy today?

Nice price. I have a fair bit, hence buying the heater but if I wanted another 16l in 4l canisters it would cost £46 delivered so it’s a fair bit more expensive. It’s annoying to have to buy it online, but the only stuff in the hardware shops here is Class 2 kero and it’s certainly not for...

    Customs/tax?

The SANDMARC lenses I bought for myiphone recently incurred import fees. FedEx also added their own charge of over £12 and just labelled it ‘other charges’.

    My Search Skills Failed Me

I’ve posted a few posts about the SD1970 and the SD1957, but I wouldn’t have posted a review or vid of the SD1957. Here are the 2 watches, but I’m not sure if I posted a YouTube of either of them. SD1970 on right, great value from AliExpress, been as cheap as £45, Seiko movement, homage to the...

What wildlife did you spot today?

I’m not sure where they all appeared from so quickly, the horse wasn’t long gone by but there were probably 10 or so of them.
