    DIY fire-starting tinder?

That’s complicated! I’ve just been making a batch of bush candles. Some wax melted onto the tray. Since I had cotton wool face pads there anyway, I wiped up the melted wax with a few of them but there was no wax where I held the pad. This is exactly the same as using Vaseline on face pads...

What to do with partially boggy land?

Sorry, I have fat thumb problems. I meant to type “….. their land” rather than “…….their lane” and you’ve answered that in my other post. You have bought a patch of hill pasture. I can only echo other posts. Look at your land for a year before you do anything with it. That will also give...

    TOP TIPS AND TRICKS.

Fire proof pot fix. Nothing New! I couldn’t find this thread earlier so I’m copying the idea here so that it is more retrievable than buried in a general thread. Quick pot fix. ( Mods - Hope that’s OK)

Last nights camp (above the clouds)

Nope. Not Swedish - they are oval. But It does fit into the Swedish enmanskok windshield - it just sits a centimetre or so high. Any Trangia or pop can type alcohol stove will work with it.

    Quick pot fix.

I only received the lifting bolts after I returned from a family camp two days ago. Now that I know the idea works I shall file the lid screw down flush so that a maximum diameter stick cut for a lid lifter goes through easily. I’m debating a bale loop on the pot. I’ve done some work on bale...

    Quick pot fix.

I think we all know that charity shops are a great source of equipment if you can look at it in the right way. My almost antique set of cooking equipment has served me long and shall probably see me out. However I am doing more and more group camping. I have found a 20cm stew pot and a frying...

    Hi, Welcome.

I have given up on sanity

The battery clock ticking artificially on the wall behind my head is innocent of sophistication. I long ago removed the second hand and the minute hand. I also removed the dial. The main face is a pierced china plate with a leaf pattern of twelve leaves. There is no glass. I have recently...

I know from experience that a Tengu surprise box is well worth having. Thoroughly recommended. I’m not bidding because I can’t think of a decent follow on just now.

I wonder how far I have traveled in the wake of my wife after similar deals :lmao: Then come to a shuddering halt as she is ambushed by a discounted yarn bin

I would certainly hope so. A woolly jumper comes well within my list of survival gear! Well done!
