    knife throwing book wanted

I used to make my own - nothing grand just a flat piece of sheet steel cut to a simple shape with a bit of red inner tube around the handle. The sharpened tip was like a Gothic arch. This shape is most forgiving of distance; it sticks into target at a wide range of angles. Even the expert in...

    What did you buy today?

Oh Enjoy! I hope you don’t eat it with those multi shaped bits of cardboard that they sell as “cheese biscuits” but however just enjoy. I’m drooling!

    What did you buy today?

A can of wax for my jackets. Off for a week in the Lakes next month. Those lakes aren’t there from underground springs!!!! It all fell out of the sky, lots of it on Keswick! No, not camping. A rather splendid self cater right on the banks of the river Greta. My favourite pub is less than...

    knife throwing book wanted

Yes, there really is something very satisfying about the thud of a knife into a log end once you understand your knife. You also quite quickly realise how unlikely various Western and Commando films are.

    Any one snow camping?

Do you know, I hadn’t heard of hot tenting till I came here and I’ve been a winter camper for much of my life. Oh I’d heard of the big bell tents with stoves and the Tentipi set ups of course but not for stuff you chuck into the van and head off with. I think it was Billy Connolly quoting Inuit...

There’s are countries where you are legally obliged to clear your stretch of pavement. There are others, like the UK, where doing so makes you liable for the surface that you’ve created. Ho, as they say, hum.

From time to time I see a green link in the middle of peoples posts “Pardon our Interruption” I have clicked once to find myself on some totally unrelated web page. Is this intentional? A site bug? Or a bug in my iPhone ? (Running Safari)

    Purchasing woodland, advice

Others know vastly more than me but: Edit: (Like @Broch) Way leaves for powerlines. Easements to allow access if it’s not roadside. County structure plans for development. Now my information is thoroughly out of date but is it still possible for folk to have rights to water? Sticks? My...

    knife throwing book wanted

I used to do a talk to youth clubs about knife throwing. “Knife throwing for entertainment or idiots”. Throwing a knife into a log end can be fun for a while. Any thought of using it aggressively is nonsense. I used to dress a pumpkin in an old silk shirt and a fleece and throw the knife as...

Be careful what you conjure in that. Many’s the time I’ve dipped my chopsticks into one of those and a tentacle has emerged!
