Wording of ‘zombie knife and machete’ ban being reported?

Firstly in order for a potentially illegal tool to be found, the police would have to enter and search your house, or garden shed, and they would need a good reason to do that, which might suggest that you had committed a crime of some sort. The police do not randomly knock on your castle door...

Wording of ‘zombie knife and machete’ ban being reported?

They are best described as juvenile fantasies, I for one would not dream of using one as a weapon, would be more likely to injure myself on all the sharp edges. The problem is that the law should be going after the cynical manufacturers and marketers that come up with such designs in the first...

New use for old toothpaste tube.

Here is a useful tip. We all know how useful vaseline is, you can take a used toothpaste tube, cut the end off and wash it out. Then fill it with vaseline and seal the ends with the usual duct tape.

Wording of ‘zombie knife and machete’ ban being reported?

The way I read it, despite the confusing grammar is that it means zombie knives, and machetes that have saw backs, spikes and extra holes. How they will define "ninja swords" which is their next target is beyond me but for the time being I feel that there is nothing I need to hand in.

    Short Brim Boonies

Do Tilley still do them? I will add that Tilley is not the company it used to be nor the quality of it's products.

    Non-military camouflage?

Not all walts play at soldiers, some play at being gamekeepers and lumberjacks :) There is nothing wrong with traditional country clothing providing it is made of traditional materials, tweeds, moleskins that sort of thing.

What knife(knives) do you use bushcrafting?

I agree, if you only have one knife it is better to have a smaller one as a whacking thick spine is more of an impediment than an advantage for most things you are going to use it for.

What knife(knives) do you use bushcrafting?

Depends on circumstance and mood. When I am just out on an ordinary country hike an SAK will suffice. When there is fire making or woodwork in the offing, my traditional 6 inch Bowie. For chopping and limbing my Bulgarian pattern lightweight bearded axe, or my 10 inch heavy duty Bowie, or my...

    G'day from "The Bush"!

I would say a decent Akubra is a good start, mine is doing sterling service in the current heatwave.

    Source for straps?

What about leather? there are plentiful sources of leather straps for belts and handbags. I made a Roycroft frame some years back which has been pimped a bit since then with a leather harness, and amongst the things I hang from it is an old canvas bicycle saddlebag which kind of fits the old...

Voluntarily handing in a large blade to the UK police

I do have a pair of folding secateurs which I took out yesterday, garden shears would have been better but less convenient for a shopping trip.

Back in the day people got to Mr Tuesday's wood by crossing over the railway from the more accessible woods on the other side, however that became impossible with new security fencing. There are a lot of woods that are open access but impossible to get to.

Voluntarily handing in a large blade to the UK police

Out in the wilds of nowhere nobody is likely to see you or report you but on the estates that is another matter. There is a footpath near to me between two housing estates that I travel most days which the Council has allowed to become severely overgrown. I feel very tempted to have a go at it...

One thing I find about being autistic is that it does make you very single minded. I have got an allotment but the slugs seem to eat more of the produce than I do, I am not at all sure that it could provide enough to survive however but it sure as hell provides more than huntin and fishin, not...

    Woopsie!

After a nasty cut where I injured a tendon I got myself a mail glove for my left hand to hold work. Unfortunately can't remember where I got it from but it does protect from blade slips.

    Spearhead.

If it is too heavy to throw you will just have to invent some device to give it a bit of propulsion Joerg Sprave style.
