I've got it in mind to try and make an ash longbow or two, I've got a perfect tree all picked out which I'll fell and make staves from some time in the new year, probably February or March. Hello there all, first ever post so I hope I don't make a hash of it! I'm almost certain Its a type of horses hoof fungus (Fomes Fomentarius), the principal fungus for making amadou. Had a little nose around for lookalikes there's a possibility that it's another fungus called Phellinus...
