Vintage blue-grey RAF headwear featuring original RAF Bakelite Buttons.
A little background/provenance:
This belonged to my late husband’s father. I have recently found some of his military records while researching the family history. He enlisted in January 1941 and served during WWII with Royal Artillery Searchlight units. His records show service connected with 29th Searchlight Regiment, which was subsequently converted to 631st Regiment RA in January 1945. He later worked as an engineer for the RAF, which is where I believe this item fits into his history. It has remained within the family ever since.
It is being sold exactly as found and has not been cleaned or restored.
Please have a good look at the photographs for condition, construction, RAF buttons, internal markings and general signs of age and use.
Hopefully it will appeal to someone with an interest in RAF, aviation or British military history.
