I grew up a city kid and did not get outdoors until my twenties. Five friends asked me to take a wilderness skills course with them. I jumped at the chance. It had absolutely nothing to do with my friends being very attractive women!
I became hooked on the outdoors and have now spent more than 15 years doing volunteer work to ensure that urban kids get the same chance I did. My most recent passion is my new blog, where I write about bushcraft and the natural world. My goal is to encourage stewardship of the environment through bushcraft.
I love to hike, backpack, and sea kayak. I also lead outdoor trips for nonprofits and state parks.
