Hiker, Hill Climber, Wild Camper & Bushcrafter for 34 years. As I hail from Oban in the Western Highlands, I like to escape the flat plains of the Peterborough area as much as possible and return to hike mainly in the Scottish Highlands.
When I do manage to get home I am always either in a kilt or a Great Kilt (Plaid). I have reached the summit of 44 Munros and been to the top of Ben Nevis 30 times, and have walked most of the hiking trails in Scotland over the years. I have started to revisit some of these walks since 2019 and capture them on film at the advice of my youngest Son, and mainly as I only had 4 photos for all the years previous to 2019.
I love history and I'm a proud descendent of Jacobite stock, one of which was probably in the tent with Bonnie Prince Charlie at the Battle of Prestonpans.
As well as hiking in Highland gear, I also make much of my traditional inspired Jacobite style kit, including bags, a backpack frame, water canteens etc.
I also sometimes hike with mixed Jacobite and modern items, although most of my modern style gear is old-school type equipment, my main bag and tent are 30 years plus old. I have recently started to replace/ buy new gear to add to my kit.
