I use the green tick twirlers...Mostly on Blackie, who seems good at getting ticks. He also isnt very co operative on letting them be removed, either. I hold him gently and hook the offender...might take several passes. The actual `twirl` doesnt bother him much, though.

I have a high opinion of the OS, interesting history and still best maps in the world. And artistic too. What I dont like is those stupid ones with the map on both sides. How do you manage them? They only fold one way. And you seldom have them fully unfolded.

No, the Landlady is wondering why I have so much food in. But, as I told her; I come from a place shopping is easy. Here the nearest shop is ten miles away. Plenty of storage in a Static, so I am well stocked up on ingredients. If I want food I just cook it.

Nothing, today I am in. But yesterday I went to the thrift shop and picked up a Lightmyfire Grandpas firefork and a Hamlyn guide to Birds of Britain and Europe. A good investment for a pound.
