Copper based "anti rot" treatment (s) applied to army issue Millbank bags....

Smashing! That's a very comprehensive and authoritative answer. Shame for my 2003 bag......Oh well. I thought I had water sorted (bag, then boil/bag then chemical or bag then grayl or similar-depending on circumstances). Now I will have to consider whether to get another bag with a later,safer...

    Drystone Dyke

Hello again Dipper thanks for posting those. It's a nice dyke that. Seems quite well built (from what I can see) and semi coursed, with a good even level on the copes too, which is kind of what you expect for dykes that are property boundaries. There is a running joint in the section pictured,but...

Copper based "anti rot" treatment (s) applied to army issue Millbank bags....

Having done a search and skim reading the results list (I didn't read the entirety of every thread that mentioned millbank bags) it seems that the questions I'm about to ask hasn't been covered yet. Apologies in advance if they have. My first question is- when did the copper based anti...

    Hello from Hamilton

Hi Tony, thanks for the welcome. It's reassuring to know I hadn't over done it there,I did wonder whether it were too much. That's something that it also says about me - I can be a bit long winded.... Being an Admin,is something I know precious little about except for a) I presume it's voluntary...

    Hello from Hamilton

    Hello from Hamilton

Hello Kelly, many thanks for the kind and helpful message. I will be doing as you suggest. It confirms what I had thought myself, when I looked at all the subforum headings. I could see a cooking section (which is kind of near, though not really near enough) but not one on water.Nice one! I...

    Hello from Scotland

No worries, when you get round to fixing your dyke I would be happy to give you a hand and "show as we go"-won't take as long that way! If you can find a copy, the BTCV put out an excellent book on it called simply "Dry Stone Walling-a Practical Handbook" out of print, sadly and one of a series-...
