I don't know what I bought. Not today for the purchasing but I've had a notification today of a delivery due by DHL. Can I remember what it's for? Nope. Yes it'll be legit but it really annoys me that all the delivery notifications don't give you an indication of who/where it's from!
I dot think anyone these days thinks there’s a good income from solar. I could be wrong.
The payback rate is likely half what you would buy at, if that.
Ball park idea of payback being 6 - 10 years if you’re using all the electric. If you’re generating half the value by exporting it out then...
There is no real big set up plan with the plug-ins. It's simple and low level stuff not an export plan. A plug in is 800W so unless you're going to get a number of plug-ins then your generation will be quite low.
Realistically if export to make money is your driver, I wouldn't recommend it...
Yes.
I would expect any solar set-up to cost to then pay back over time.
My electricity supply is fine but I still want to move away / reduce what I'm paying to an electricity company.
I’m not sure the benefit of going totally off grid is there. Ok so you’ll be stuck with a standing charge but that would be minor versus the pain and cost of ever having to reconnect.
Woody G has a jackery - unfortunately the solar isn’t waterproof for that. Odd design!
As to a utility company flagging you for potentially producing 800w of electricity - no chance.
I know of an electric meter that was seized for six months. A smart meter appointment was booked. The engineer...
It does depend.
Mesh is great to air hop when it’s more convenient than running a cable.
For mine although it’s not a long run, meshing wasn’t reliable enough due to a few walls. Running a cable through teo narrow loft spaces was a pain but doing it once was better than the repeated pain of...
If you have a wheel type meter that has the ability to run backwards then that is what lots of solar folk want!
As to the RCD, you can just get a module switched out for a bidirectional one.
What would you like to know?
The production is what I would anticipate. Not optimum as these are old panels so less efficient than new panels but they were free!
Mine is (currently) two strings of 3 panels.
If you use new panels you would just buy two panels around the 400W output and...
