    What is your favourite constellation?

    Cygnus is one of my favourites and Draco though difficult to pick out at times. Favourite stars include Castor and Pollux and the "garnet star" in Cepheus.

    I'm with Porcupine on this one - keeping warm and dry is the best way to handle it. Most of my outdoor stuff has been mountain based, not much kindling available!     Navigating in the hills in mist can be confusing for anyone and if an error has been made a gps can be a great comfort in relocating your position quickly. They can even be a lifesaver in some situations especially in places like the Cairngorms in winter where I have found navigating by map...

    Showery weather here but at least the really high winds missed Inverness. Winds were higher the further east you went - gusts up to 70 mph at Rosehearty I;m told!:eek: Only got up to aprox 40 mph gusts here. Cheers Dave.

    I spend my days working in a hospital - not conducive to good mental health! Been doing that for too many years but at least it means I can work and live in the Highlands. Much better than the insanity of Edinburgh.:eek:

    Have to say I agree with Greenman. Leave them alone and they wont bother you. I have had them nesting in our garden and it was fascinating watching them flying into the gap in the soil and coming out again with a small ball of soil held in their legs. It was like Heathrow with a constant...
