I'm a young at heart grandma. People are surprised when I tell them how old I am, but it's hard to tell if they're just being kind. Not that I care. I intend to grow old disgracefully With my grown children having flown the nest and busy with their own lives, I have time on my hands and a passion for living outdoors... I gave up smoking this year and am focusing on improving my health through natural remedies, exercise and outdoor activities. My current aim is to carry my 40 litre pack whilst simultaneously keeping up with everyone else, which I'm not too far from achieving.
I find true peace and happiness in woodcarving, pottery, drawing and foraging for wild foods. Not sure I could kill an animal unless my actual survival depended on it, but I have no problem with skinning, prepping and cooking already dead ones.having said that, I think if I could learn to make a clean kill, I'd feel much better about it.
I'm done with politics and protesting activism, prefering instead to leave that to the young'uns...
Had a difficult life but come through without bitterness... I tend to be optimistic and to find the positive in most things.
I don't own a TV (threw it out years ago with no regrets)... Listening to the shipping forecast on my radio is strangely comforting though.
I'm looking to make friends with like-minded people and to practice & perfect Bushcraft skills and to sit together around a fire at the end of the day. My idea if heaven would be to own or to have free access to woodland and coastal areas. I love rambling (I don't mean in the talking sense, although I do like to talk, but in the walking sense)... Having said that, I've lived on my own for sometime now and I do talk to myself.
Art & crafts, health & beauty, fitness and nutrition. I like dancing and music.
