Yes please Heath. I ordered the axe head in February, it only arrived this week. I have got loads of images but only side on, need to know how wide the shaft is, as if you are looking down the face of the blade. Tim

Well the Stefan Ronnqvist axe head finally arrived this week, all I need now is the diagram of the original handle. Pruned some large branches off an old ash tree in Winter and saved all the ones with a natural bend, hopefully one will make the perfect handle. Tim

I would not remove such a burl if its on the main trunk and is approaching 50 percent of the width of the trunk. The tree could suffer badly and may not heal properly, beech are prone to rotting back on large wounds, smaller wounds would callus over in time and the tree would not suffer much...

Just get the Gransfors Bruk Swedish (Large) carving axe, you will not regret it.

I second the TKMax. I have had many a good fleece and trousers from there and if you go a few times you could find good brands like, Lowe, Berghaus, Helly Hansen and the ones already mentioned at reduced prices.

My Gransfors Bruk Large Carving axe arrived. Got the one with the double grind.
