    Homemade Jerky

My recipe up there is something I more or less follow each time. Haven't made it in ages and now this has reignited the desire for it!

    Naturism

Wife just said midgies in Scotland :lmao:

    Naturism

@Paul_B Whilst this is very true, that sounds like a potentially serious occurrence, which could have done you in had you been wearing a suit of armour  But now consider the less serious incidences, like someone in front not holding the branch back, or releasing it at precisely the wrong...

    I can't stand Deadpool

Funny how if you don't board or miss some trains, you just get left behind without really being all that bothered.. I have never watched Deadpool... Transformers I think I saw the first one... that was that. John Wick, never seen them Fast and Furious - might have seen the first one, that was...

What sort of winter do you predict?

I'm considering a trip to the arctic circle this winter... maybe we'll just have our own

    Naturism

Naturism out and about, yeh but no from me... I've whipped my kit off on a secluded beach that was only accessible from water, I guess to see what all the fuss was about... you get sandy in places that you don't usually get too sandy. I've gone starkers into a river on Skye during snow in...

    Adventure Overland 2024

I think we're the next field away from the motorcycle group. There is a guy dick.van.hike (instagram handle), he's got a couple flags and a hammock on the roof of his white transit van, we're near opposite that! @Broch ahh boo! :(

    Adventure Overland 2024

We're here arrived late last night so had to hang out in the special pen... We're now the next field from the social media trucks near a 6x6 defender, out wondering now though!

    Climate Change & Survival.

I find the whole climate change topic both exhausting and interesting. I find it most interesting talking to real people who work real jobs in a real world and learn little ways to better myself and my surroundings, and most exhausting talking to the people whose job is to tell other people what...

    Futurproofing your house

@Paul_B Unfortunately for us we just can't get on with supermarket deliveries... We have impossible substitutions, short shelf life and just poor quality fresh produce that ruined it. I can accept substitutions in some departments - I can't think of specific accurate examples, but for instance...

    Not going to make it

Bit late to the party on this, but how strange a good friend of mine suffered from this in June... Think he had his removed.

Cocktails... whats all the fuss about?

Hahah you alcoholics! I actually rarely drink nowadays... I don't know why.. with work I tend to be up early (and actually have to be productive), but I also finish late, so there isn't much enticement to neck a drink then fall asleep  Then when I have time off, I have that "FOMO" (fear...

    Forest schools are a failure.

"One of education’s greatest illusions is that what is taught is what is learned." I know I'm unfairly not as patient as I should be when repeating what I've deemed as "simple things", probably more often than not I'm not patient. I need to very strongly remember this quote. Thank you for...

    Forest schools are a failure.

Agreed. I'm sure as @Pattree has pointed out, the reality is all of this will likely be individual specific, location specific, year specific etc etc... Isn't school in general something that falls under the same category? We spend fortunes on taxes on something that doesn't seem to work for...

    Forest schools are a failure.

@Broch This was exactly the point that came to mind when I read the @Wayne post (31). I think the world has changed so much to suggest that something hasn't worked in a straight line fashion is too simplistic.
