Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Geoffrey joined the British Army in 1975. In 1993 he was awarded a BEM in the Queen's New Year’s Honours for Conservation and Anglo-German Relations. Since leaving the army after serving for 22 years, he has gone on to achieve many things. He has travelled extensively while enjoying his interest in birds.
After leaving the British Army he set about writing his first of five books. His first book 'Discover Nature Awareness' introducesand guides the reader in the art of working with people in nature, through play and by using a series of nature-based activities. His first DNA book 'Our Relationship with Nature' has been translated into three other languages to date.
In 2017 his writing took a different direction when he began to work on and off on 'More Birds Than Bullets'. In 2019 he released this semi-autobiography which has since been followed by 'Bandit Country'.
Bandit Country, the first in a series of short stories, was an experiment in a different genre. The story, while fiction, is loosely based on his experiences in the British Army.
