    Alan Wood/Ray Mears Woodlore knife

That was my reading of A.Wood's statement: As far as 'Hollow Grind' goes, clearly this has particular connotations to particular people, but in this case I was merely referencing the maker's statements as well as what Mcnutt/Orford told me some 10 years ago....

    Alan Wood/Ray Mears Woodlore knife

Just been back to the AW site to re-read/examine the page in question: Macaroon, are you referring to the top picture with the Woodlore knife above the Tufnol handled knife that he states he originally loaned to Ray in the early development process? If so, perhaps you are confusing the very...

    Alan Wood/Ray Mears Woodlore knife

Hello all, just wondering if there might be any interest in an old Alan Wood Woodlore that I've had stored for what must be 15+ years? It is the hollow grind version which dates it specifically I believe if one reads up Alan Wood's own commentary on the history of this knife on his website...

    Almost fatal in Borneo 2013

Great report MORFY! How's your health now? I'm curious if you were ever told (and remember) by the hospital what treatments they actually gave you? Your story is a very interesting one, not least because it reminds me very vividly of the experience of an old Jungle guide/expert friend of mine...

Looking for a good survival course

I guess you decided by now max83 which course was right for you, but I can echo what others have said re:Woodsmoke. Having completed I think 4 of their courses over the years, the standard of content and instruction/instructor was very high indeed. Kerne's quote re: differences between survival...

when did it all start ?

I agree, a good and interesting question, and as Tony said it will be good to hear more of your experiences as you have them. For me, I grew up in reasonably remote (for UK) moorland in Scotland where the nearest shop is still 10+ miles away, where my interest in living outside and making...
