    Anyone from the teesside area?

He hasn't asked for any work to be done, although after our first visit we're going to approach him about helping to manage the woodland. There are (I think) public trails through there to though a lot is overgrown so is not used. In the long run I think he'd be keen as he seems to love the...

    Anyone from the teesside area?

I can ask at the farm me and my mate have been given permission to camp. The woodland isn't exactly flat though, so may not be great for tents. I'm going up on Saturday, though as I've only really spoken to him a couple of times I'm a little tentative. Any suggestions for trying to convince him? :p

An overnighter in some local woodland

There's a special place reserved in hell for those little squits setting those fires. Lol, he's upgrading to a hammock for easter I think :p

An overnighter in some local woodland

A workmate and I managed to get permission to camp (with fire) in a local farmers woodland, only five minutes down the road from me, for Easter weekend, result! So as I've just got some new kit I decided that a pre-Easter "dry run" was on the cards to see how I got on with my new sleep system...

    Anyone from the teesside area?

Thanks bopdude. Yeah Loftus has seen better days but it's a nice rural spot for a city boy like me (originally from Brum). Recently decided I want to spend more time outdoors, and after not really getting along with ground dwelling in the past decided to splurge and go for a DD jungle hammock...

    Anyone from the teesside area?

Just to chime in and resurrect this thread. I'm in loftus so not too far from a few here. kinda) new to the forum and new to bushcraft/the outdoors in general. Best way to describe me at the moment is "have the gear, no idea" :p

    Tips from the field

Some great tips and advice there, especially for a newbie - thanks for sharing! So who wants to feel really happy and buy me a hammock? :puppy_dog (worth a try)

    What have you learned recently?

Today I learned that I really like cheesy bannock bread, and that tampons are great for starting fires. Whats not great is having your 7yr old daughter ask you what they're REALLY for. *awkward*
