I wonder if the charger is actually capable of negotiating USB PD. I'd try a dumber USB C power source.

Is the charger only getting 0.5A? Because that's suspiciously the USB 2.0 maximum amps.

The trade tends to be higher capacity cells have lower continuous current discharge, and lower capacity cells have higher continuous discharge. And not related to size that much. But for running a couple of leds, it shouldn't matter. The only problem that could be size related is unprotected...

A Cree led has a max forward current of around 3A. Any 26650 should be capable of providing enough continous current. So would buy the highest capacity available. Ecolux direct is good for the odd sizes. https://www.ecoluxshopdirect.co.uk/by-size/26650-batteries And has the protected XTARs in...

The new breed of spammer - Use of AI - example

One interesting consquence of AI is because they take a tremendous amount of energy to run at scale. So it's effectively kickstarting more nuclear power. Three Mile Island nuclear power station has been restarted to power Microsoft's AI operations. Amazon bought a nuclear powered datacenter in...

What do you lot do for a living?

I don't think the value in higher education is fading, it's just the value has been diluted with too much BS. We are producting too many people with BS degrees that probably aren't worth the time to study. Eg Loving the Brine Shrimp: Exploring Queer Feminist Blue Posthumanities to Reimagine the...

Survival situation - what would you do?

Yes, the gun was the bone of contention. If you are on the moon, one side is why do you need a gun, nothing to protect yourself from. And the other is well we have limited medical, so if someone was dying in a particularly slow and painful manner, you could use it.

Survival situation - what would you do?

Yeah, it's sort of an average of all the similar scenarios. Pretty sure there is a free use defense to the copyright infringement anyway. The OP was post was for starting a discussion. Like posting a short clip from a movie, and adding commentary to make it transformative. Here in the UK...

Survival situation - what would you do?

Yes. If it's on the internet, likely every AI has consumed it as training data. So will reply with some variation.

Do remember seeing this, for heating 1.5l of water with flameless ration heaters. https://www.gearzonetactical.com/ITW-Military-Products-BodahPak_p_8065.html

Survival situation - what would you do?

Yeah, there are many variations, remember a NASA moon survival scenario used in group software developer job interview. Bet in a short amount of time, can get AI to spit out a survival scenarios and kits lists to order and pick from.
