    Lundhags- military/para boots?

For a time in the post Falklands era they were limited issue to Royal Marines, not the Parachute Regiment. Popular for a time in the same way Matterhorn Orions were with the Army a bit later.

How many rucksacks do you have?

In the services I had 58 Large Pack - a poor excuse for a bag GS Bergen - Too small as a Bergen but not a bad patrol sack without the frame SAS Para Bergen - I used one of these on selection (which I failed) but quite liked it. Ski March Bergen - not too bad on the shorter fame PLCE Trials...

    Which Lowa Boots ?

If you get any boots with a thinsulate or goretex lining they will wear out fairly quickly. If you buy a boot with a leather lining they will last longer and water resistance need not be compromised. My Lowas are now more than 10 years old and still going strong

    Camouflage boiler suit or overalls

Dutch Army use a one piece cold weather coverall, DPM Goretex on the outside (with hood) and a quilted sleeping bag type liner. You can get them surplus if you shop around

Hello from Ringwood on the edge of the New Forest

Hello, I live on the edge of the New Forest I am interested in most outdoor bushcraft. Particularly interested in low tech kit. Spent 31 years in the services, regular and reserve, now my son is in the army.

Other arms bergen - Military mart

They are actually very good, if limited on capacity. Tough as old boots and comfortable they do the job they were designed to do. The fact that it was seen as a downgrade from the infantry Bergen (with the status which goes with it). Think of it in terms of the Camelback Motherload or patrol...

NORWAY ARMY BERGEN BACKPACK in OLIVE GREEN 60L

They are good, they were often used by the Royal Marines back in the 70's and early 80's. Well made not particularly large and the hip section of the frame can be uncomfortable for larger gentlemen

Hi, Has anyone here purchsed or used the Silvermans 120 Litre SAS Type Bergen?

From the only image on their web page it looks like a green PLCE sack with three additional pouches and an external from from the SAS/Para Bergen. Does anyone here have one? used one? or have any other images of the Bergen? Many thanks
