    The perfect bushcraft soap

Wonderful thread! a lot of great information, and you've got me digging the web for more info.. :) I'm a sucker for the home made, home grown, self suport type stuff anyway. How do I go about conning/trading you out of a bar after it cures? :D Gary

    A bit of woodcraft...

:) Thanks fellows. These chain saws really are nifty, especially for the reason I got it, going through seasoned wood with a hatchet is hard work! The main reason for wanting to make the buck saw was needing a way to use that saw for dropping large trees; With the normal method of using the...

I fancy making a box/bench - maybe this Norse design

Funny that I hadn't thought of this; seems such an obviously good idea. Not the kind of thing I would take to the woods with me. But I like the idea for keeping my carving tools in it; And can take it out to the yard to work. I've had an idea, for holding blocks for carving etc. a flip-able lid...

    A bit of woodcraft...

G'day all, I hope I have this in the right place. I don't post on this forum near as often as I should, especially considering the time I spend reading and learning here. Spent about an hour yesterday afternoon with the pocket chain saw, a knife I've been testing (destruction test of...

    Horns

I've made them into powder horns, for black powder. I always figured it would be too much trouble to sterilize one for drinking... Can cow horn be made into a *horn* (for sound) ? Does anything special need to be shaped, or just hollow it, clip the tip off and blow? Gary

    First deer by bow

Having never been deer hunting....my general knowlege leaking out here.... having read a lot of acounts of good/clean kills, it depends on the animal itself, some are sturdier than others and it just takes a little longer for the body to shut down. I've read of rifle shots that go through the...

"Legendary Beast" found in Maine / Wolf-dog Hybrid

We have lots of wolf dog mixes up here, some people breed wolf in on purpose if possible, for dog sled teams. A friend of mine has one that is at least 75 lbs, and big. Friendliest k9 I've ever met. that thing looks like a chow mix. G.
