    really good job! did you just tattoo the pattern with a tattoo gun? you said it can be tattooed with pretty much anything...do you know if there are any cheap diy-alternatives for tattooing leather?

    Well, it is not a whole burl but a large on and three smaller ones. I also thought about cutting only the small ones or even only one of them to hurt the tree as few as possible. But even the small ones are larger than 3" in diameter. I think the only chance will be to ask the landowner/forestry...

    Hey folks, today i spotted a nice beech burl while spending some time outdoors. I would like to remove it to make some nice things from it. The burl itself covers about half of the circumference of the trunk. But i am concerned, if the removal would cause too much damage to the living tree...

    yeah, at first i also thought it would be a handle for a knife or similar. the idea with the toy gun really makes sense, like a tube you blow into but with a piston to compress the air instead.

    Please teach me about glueing leather/wet and dry

    UHUpor is also a good idea if you want to just temporary fix two pieces together. Works well on leather as well as wood. Definately a thumbs up for this glue, don´t know if they sell it in the UK though.

    good idea! it doesn´t allways need to be leather for projects like that, canvas/jeans cotton is very adequate for that.
