Hunting and trapping is so wide a subject it's not really something that can be discussed in sufficient detail on here. If/when we meet up, I'll be happy to give you any help you need.
The first step for you would be to start learning tracking, as that's the vital skill, recognising that there's something around to hunt. It's also a good idea to know the laws relating to hunting. Hope you can make the next meet.
