Which boots will protect me from snakes in Nicaragua?

As quoted by leon1 most snake bites are in the lower leg region, try wearing a pair of gaitors over your boots for a bit more protection. But unless you go lookingv for snakes you will hardly see one,you are more likely to hear them getting out of your way.

    wellies or not?

:1244: I find wearing two pair of socks helps when wearing wellies 1 pair thin 1 pair thick, and they are no problem, the only other problem with them is they tend to sucked of your feet in really muddy conditions.

    i need flint lol

If there are any road works near you and they are digging holes have a scout around you may find some flint in the piles of earth.I have found some really good workable pieces doing this. Why pay for it. :D

    squirrels

Squirrels are quite tasty, although there is not a lot of meat on them,I generally make a stew with them. You can suit the stew to your own tastes.

the dd hamocks are really good and well worth the money, but select a different tarp.and use karabiners for quick slinging of the hammock.
