On my rest days from my paid employment i enjoy doing a wide range of conservation work for my local park which is a registered charity, and comprises 650 acres of wild meadows and mixed woodlands. My duties involve maintaining paths, removal of invasive species, creation of new wild habitat, repair& renewal of stock fencing, hedge laying and tree planting, making hurdles from coppiced Hazel. Also the management of livestock, ( we have a small flock of Jacob Sheep as part of our meadow management program). However my main interest is the Drangonfly and Damselfly surveys we do around our many ponds on the park.
