    Knife making competition 2013

we're in the middle of moving house too, it's a pain but the new house is great. Plenty of room for a proper workshop, something I've always wanted but never been able to have. The knife project is still on my to do list though, and as soon as the move is done, I'll be on it :)

    Monkey nuts

+1 for tiger nuts as fishing bait, sadly banned from a lot of the commercial fisheries around here for some reason. Can still use them on the rivers though :) Never heard to them being referred to as monkey nuts, the ones in Bare Thrills' pic are what we called monkey nuts when we were kids.

    RIP Sir Patrick Moore

Well spotted Elen, a lovely tribute indeed. Perhaps it's too early to talk of such things, but to me Brian May would be the natural choice to take over the show. I don't use the word "replacement" because Sir Patrick was irreplaceable IMHO, but if the show must go on (see what I did there?) then...

    LoTR tooled bracer and cuff

Stunning work Hamish, whoever commissioned them won't be disappointed. With regard to what you said about improving your tool work - I suspect you are your own worst critic, give yourself a break dude, from what I've seen your work is brill :)

So sad :( Sir Patrick was one of a kind, a truly remarkable individual who inspired generations to "look up". Rest in peace good sir, you will be sorely missed.
