    Best outdoor work clothes

I loved my russian gorka jacket, now worn through to holes, over a fleece. Windproof, reasonably water resistant ( though I scotchguarded it), very breathable, quite tough. It was very cheap, though I suspect they may have become more difficult to obtain over the last 5 years.

    Walking sticks and staffs

I find great comfort in a 5ft thumbstick when I'm walking the dog. Reasonably frequently it prevents trips and falls. I promise I'm sober. Whilst my lekis have done good service in more adventurous terrains, the thumbstick accompanies me every day.

Amaranth and 120 perenial plants from plugs doing well. 43 rasberries, 30 strawberries in planters, 10...

Keep learning new skills, keep practicing and applying. Gardening is becoming much more important as retirement beckons. Dancing and lessons beckon when I have the time. Vary your cooking repertoire. Reinforcement by practice of important knowledge and skills is useful. Forge new neuronal...

Where can I get a long digging hoe?

Hence the regular horse poo collection, and the need for the serious digging hoe . At least, near Manchester I don't have to worry about water. I swear, this afternoon the local zoo went past in pairs, looking for a bloke building a big boat. Forty days and forty nights? Eee, that were luxury...

Where can I get a long digging hoe?

On the edge of productive coal measures and oxford clay. Could be the remains of a couple of centuries old slag heap.
