The woodland around Bolderwood Ornamental Drive (Deer Sanctuary, Reptile centre, Portuguese Fireplace) is a good walking area and not too far from you.
But probably my favourite area is around Fritham.
The walk (Westish) from Fritham to the High Corner Inn via Sloden and Hasley Inclosure...
Nice looking stove - Well done.
Regarding turning the stove off - rather than turning the bottle over & risking tipping the stove, could you find a way of shutting off the breath hole.
Still a very clever design though. :)

Mull is my favourite island on the West Coast.
I'm heading up to the Outer Hebrides in May/June and will be spending a few days on Mull on the way through - Any excuse :rolleyes:
If you get the time - Iona is well worth a visit on a good day.

As far as proper wildcamping is concerned, you are spoilt for choice but here are a few thoughts.
The southern shore of Loch na Keal (by B8035) is good - easy access to path to Ben More.
There is an official wildcamping site at Calgary Bay - Nice location but popular!

I visited the Outer Hebrides 6 years ago as a 1 off trip - loved it and have gone back 3 times since. :o
There was also a program by Robson Green about them last week - He wildcamped on the dunes near Losgaintir Harris - virtually same spot as me...

Isle of Mull is spectacular but towing a caravan on some of the side roads could be a bit too exciting, so my advice is stick to the main A849 which runs from Craignure to Tobermory or Fionnphort and find a site as a base to start with then explore/investigate by car before...
