    oil bottle with brush

The item you're looking for is Napier Gun Oil which used to be available in a bottle with 2 lids, one housing the brush, the other a spout. Nobody inspired by Uncle Ray's latest kit?

Surprised I've not seen a thread asking what the brand & item details are for the new kit Ray's using in the latest series 3 of Wild Britain :) I'm not taking the mickie as I've been interested in many items of kit in the past. Must say he's got a very nice all leather rucksack though.

    Flint and ???

When you say a 'solid lump of pyrites', do you mean the type that's otherwise known as fools gold, or do I recall there are harder nodules? And if so, where do you get it from?

    Flint and ???

Red I too have tried iron pyrites in the past as I'd heard of it, but when I tried it just crumbled - any particular tips? Cheers

    Flint and ???

I'm reasonably experienced at firelighting as I'm sure most of us are. My prefered method is the flint & steel as I like the link to how our forefathers started fire, although I am practised at most other methods including friction firelighting etc. I had heard that it was possible to generate...

    Antler handled fire steel

Hi, I've just made myself an antler handled fire steel / ferro rod. Please can anyone advise whether I need to apply any surface treatments to the antler? Apologies if the questions been covered before, but I couldn't find an answer when I had a brief search.
