    crayfish website

i found this from a link on rivercottage.net, it is primarily a commercial site but has discussion of legal issues and trapping etc that may be useful to those interested in eating well and doing an environmental service: http://www.crayfish.co.nr/ Ben

    Trapping pigeons

i think a major difference between your woodpigeon and those in the UK is their migratory habbits on the continent (as apposed to static populations here). also, woodpigeon are highly adept at reading warning signs, as any shooter will know. i should think if you did snare one, it would be...

    Good day for mushrooms.

that sounds roughly like the recipe for bramble vodka (replacing whiskey for vodka obviously) although I lay off the sugar personally and go for about four or five heaped tablespoons to the bottle. the vodka has little or no flavour of its own so it really brings out the fruit, although whiskey...

Historically, what's the uses for heather?

here here, a great deal of controversy. however, i would add that grouse moor managment and shooting greatly benefits the grouse and biodiversity (just a bit less when poorly done). The president of the Game Conservancy Trust wrote an interesting article in the telegraph for the 12th which...

    East Sussex Meet-up

Hi all, would anyone be interested in a meet-up in the east sussex/kent area? I know a handful of keepers and farmers and would willingly negotiate a venue with one. One, a good friend of mine in Robertsbridge I'm sure would be particularly amenable. I was thinking maybe towards the...
