Well I have been eating Scotch Broom Flowers- just a few every now and again- but it seems the web is rife with controversy over these plants.

Some sites say the Scotch Broom's flowers are dangerous as it contains same chemicals as the rest of the plant, others say it is fine and yet others say it is the Spanish Broom one has to worry about. In fact the sites that contradict can also be academic sites.

In the meantime I am sticking to Gorse, Wood Sorrel, Birch leaves and a few other bits and pieces on my regular walk.

Oh, and also while visiting some of these sites I saw that the fiddler's elbows, which I have been told were safest fern parts when small, actually contain the HIGHEST carcinogenic amounts! Egads..all I wanted was to simplify...;)

All the best
