Should there be a UK Sea Angling license

I just had an interesting thought. If a sea angling license became mandotory, an easy way to bypass it would just be to claim you are a commercial fisherman. If non motorised, or from the shore, in most cases you do not need licensing or quotas. Even if motorised, you could easily get around...

    Knots for tightening Tarp Ridgerope

I use a variation on the prussik I invented myself. Works pretty good.

    Looking for brown silnylon

Can you share the information for those of us who also are after it?

    Icebreaker

I have that one, looks good, but I don't like it. Too hot in hot weather, and cold in the wind, or when sitting about. I have a paramo reversible trail shirt which I think is a far superior garment, easy to control the temperature and blocks out the wind better.

    Icebreaker

I don't love it, it's OK but not great. Some of the stuff does look good so you can wear it in towns as well though.

    Wild place

Where abouts was it? I go to some of the most wild areas in scotland, and don't carry any flares. I wouldn't quite agree they are essential.

    Spyderco Bushcraft Knife

I would estimate it would sell at £80-100.

    Spyderco Bushcraft Knife

Is that a hole in the blade or just a bad picture?

I use: Garlic, brown sugar, salt, vinegar and soy sauce. Makes excellent jerky. Just salt and pepper is good too.

Grand father arrested for carrying a knife

I have to disagree. I have several experiences where the police are not aware of/do not understand laws.

    Good Beginners knife

The moras handle is not good at all, hard, slippery and uncomfortable. The clipper is the same price and far better. Oh, BTW, have you got much experience using axes? A lot of folk I know prefer something small as they aren't used to using axes, and get tired quick. I think my favourite...

    What the World Eats...

What I believe in, is that every child should get the same start. Like the same opportunity for education, health, food, etc. If a child works harder at school, or better, then they'll make more money at work, and good for them. Lazy folk will have a poorer life which seems fair enough. I...

    paracord critique

I use 1.3mm nylon net rigging cord. It's a very tightly woven cord, incredibly abrasion resistant, lightweight, and does not stretch at all. Cheap also. I can get sizes up to 4mm easily. It's terrific stuff. For a ridgeline, I use 4mm polyprop as it's useful for lashings as well. Also...

    Wanted: Crampons/Other winter gear

I'd like things like crampons, ice axes, pref about 50 or 55cm, ice screws, a couple of nuts, and various other bits and pieces. I have a lot of items that are swappable or can pay cash, just let me know.

    Berghaus/northface bushcraft.

I'd recommend paramo too. The best jacket I have ever used, and is easy to reproof.

    GB Carpenters Axe

It's the alpha, I reckon it's about 20 years old. It is green with an orange and yellow inner. It still handles pretty good, recently proofed with nikwax, I was up in a good storm at about 4000 feet in the the cairngorms and it coped excellently. I'd reckon it is a tight squeeze for 3.
