Absinthe, jäger, vodka, jack Daniels, grouse, white n McKay, cider, beer, John smiths and flour.

Haha remember that night? :D

On a serious note though I use:

2 cups flour
1 cup milk powder (nestle nisa stuff I think)
2 teaspoons baking powder
Pinch of salt
Whatever else takes my fancy, cheese, bacon etc
Pour in water and fry in butter :D

late last night i made this

1 cup ov flour
1 tbs of milk powder
1tsp of baking powder
few rasins & some golden syrup was qualty!!!

I normally do this

Base
2 cups flour
1 cup powdered milk (cheap tescos stuff)
1 egg
2 tsp of baking powder
pinch of salt

Mix 1
4 tsp mixed spices
rasins
chocolate chips

Mix 2
2 cloves of garlic crushed
2/3 finely chopped chilis

Next time I do mine I'm going to try some blackberries as well as raisins, I use Jinsens456 mix.
Mind you anything cooked over embers is great.

Made a nice garlic one up the woods

the recipe we used was

3 cups self raising flour
1 cup milk powder
1 teaspoon of sea salt
Garlic granules or fresh garlic to taste,

im told it was one of my best

What consistency do you mix the dough to?

I just mix it until it's "smooth", dont want to be playing with the dough for too long otherwise you will knock out all the air bubbles created by the raising agents and it will end up like a paving slab

H, just a quick question for you experienced bannock bakers, does it taste any different cook in a frying pan over a fire compared to cooking it in a fry pan on a normal ring at home? or do you think you would benefit from the flavour more if I was to make some sort of board to put near as possible to the open fire?

Also any fool proof easy recipes/combinations of extras to put in the bannock would be much appreciated!!

Iv done a search on youtube for different recipes but no one seems to use milk powder, however it comes up quite regularly on here.

Thanks ever so much
Steve

Yes.. less woodysmokey.

Pretty much the recipe is fool proof, combinations are just about what tastes you want.

I use uncle Ray,s recipe,and its really rather good,more like a cake,than a bread.

4 Tablespoons of brown sugar
1 Teaspoon of baking powder
