I have one of them. They are great for the money, mae even better by the current exchange rate.

However, having recently recieved a skookum bushtool I have to say that the skookum is much better than any other knife i've handled! I imagine the waiting list has grown quite a bit since I ordered though.

:)

I don't have an aurora, but I have a few barkies. Good stuff! You wont be dissapointed if you like convex grinds. IMO the BRKT-convex is a lot better than the Fallkniven-convex.

The A2 steel is very good and has a great HT. It doesn't discolor so much as O1 and holds an edge longer imo.

So, get one!

I've got two, and if you like a larger knife they are fantastic. Comfortable in the hand and as sharp as they come with a convex edge

Ah,blaze orange G10,sensible man.:)

Barkies are great knives and good value. The Unconditional (apart from badger attack) guarantee makes it even better value.

Dan,

Never say to Mike "I like the design - why on earth didn't you make it Scandy?". I did - he wasn't the worlds happiest camper

:D

Its a really, really nice design tbh. For the money I don't think you'll beat it - it all depends if convex is your bag - as stated - vastly better grind than an F1 IMNSHO

I've talked to mike a lot. He knows his bussines. He's got a lot of experience too.

If you don't like convex, dont buy them.
If you do like convex, by al meams buy them. There are no better convex grinds out there and the handles are amazing. Both in shape and material. The customer service is second to none in the world!

No problem, All should now come with their "bushcraft" sheath with firesteel loop as the pic. I also had made a leftie version with dangler loop, from JRE industries, who used to make the sheaths for Bark River before they did them inhouse.

Thanks very much for the pics and the advice.:You_Rock_ i already have a clipper, but i think this is going to be my next knife. it seems like a great alternative to a custom made knife (the expense of those is a little outta my league at the mo) and i very much like the look of the sheath, plus i am a big fan of the Blaze Orange handle. (if i spend over a hundred quid on a knife i wanna be able to find it again):D

I've had an Aurora a Northstar and several other Bark River knives. They are nice knives but for around the same price you can have a custom such as the The Skookum Bush Tool. Sure you'll have to wait a bit and it might cost a little more. But, you will have a knife made to fit and a lot better quality in my opinion.
