No apology necessary
Easy to miss threads. Just thought people might like the wider context/discussion.
Indeed, without talking about gangstas, road men sticking people with road pins, decapitation, removal of limbs with billhooks. It’s an utter trolls fantasy designed to kick up a long winded thread of miffed people making up rubbish about sharpened pencils doing just as much damage. It wears thin after 20 or so years, this same discussion.
Stick with the actual law. Which wasn’t ‘lobbied’ for, we were asked to fill in a questionnaire, it was pointed out people use tools and some blades require a hole so they can be stacked and don’t warp during heat treat. Nobody except some companies selling knives clearly as weapons, and perhaps some idiots who use them to intimidate or wound in gang culture has had any ‘right’ removed.
If my UKPK was 5mm longer it would be illegal to carry without question as UK legal. A length does need to be set in law. The legal processes have been referred to as the slippery slope for as long as I can remember, and so far none of our needs, activities or usages have been affected in the slightest. There is no reduction in rights or dumbing down going on, just alarmist fantasy that completely ignores Kiri, who is in the legal profession and been keeping people informed of the FACTS without fuss since the early 2000’s on BritishBlades.
Much more to the point is which blade grind is best, scandi, convex, hollow, scandi with secondary, or high sabre? Discuss…
