Woodmans pal

Hi all,ive been using one of these for a few years now for general camp duties and i was wondering if anyone has one, and have they modified the handle. I was looking to fit home made scales.

I have a few pals that can be persuaded to do duties around the camp. Anyone in particular? I have one pal called Stuart and we shortened his handle to 'Stu'

I've heard that you could use the Gerber Gator Pro Machete and sharpen it up, before deciding to buy the actual Woodsman's pal. You might want to see if you like the design first before upgrading, as it's quite a bit cheaper than the original.

my woodmans pal handle is made up of what looks like wooden rings and over time i can see them loosening off ,it happened to an old estwing hatchet i had. i dont want to remove them in case i cant attach a new handle of some sorts.

They are probably leather discs, quite easy to make and replace, you just need a lot of leather!
