As last night was the last night of the school holidays without a schoolday after it, and the weather was forecast to be good, I decided to take sound bombs 1 and 2 out for a spot of wild camping, along with a friend and his brace of train horns.
We opted for the upper slopes of Breda Hill, overlooking the Don Valley in Aberdeenshire. Its only a mile from home, as the crow flies, an important consideration when youve got a 5 and an 8 yr old wild camping for the 1st time.
The walk up
The campsite
And a little thing I knocked up between packing and heading out
Much fun was had. (We found this, we didnt take it with us)
Quality hide / climbing frame.
The view from the top
I got sod all sleep, as my UQ came unfastened in the night but I couldnt work out what had come adrift until this morning. The kids had the only torch with them in their tent.
