I've done a 3 other courses with Jack Raven before and was interested in their longer courses and going to Arran. I spotted that this year their trip to the Isle of Arran in Scotland tied up with my Birthday. I put a bit aside each month, to make sure I get away on an adventure each year, so it was a bit of a no brainer for me. Also dragged along my girlfriend to make a week of it. Having done previous courses, I also had discount codes to bring the price down.

We travelled up on Sunday, taking the ferry over to the Island. The crossing was good fun, they cancelled the following ferrys as it was very choppy. We have booked a hotel in a nearby town, so we would be ready to start the course early the following morning. Was great to have a whole week away staying in my hammock and learning new things each day. Arran is a great place to visit and I will have to head back there soon for some wild camping. Was a great experience to do and really inspired me to get away more.
There are some pictures of the trip on the jack raven site.
