Between a sore shoulder and a dose of the flu I've had plenty of time for reading over the last few weeks. Spent most of the time plouging through Jules Vernes and HG Wells but here's a few finds from Project Gutenberg which may be of interest to some.

Among the Trees at Elmridge by Ella Rodman Church
http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/11723
An odd wee book, written in the form of a teacher discussing trees with her charges on a wander round the gardens. Some unusual info contained therein.

Studies of Trees by Jacob Joshua Levison
http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/16116

The Commercial Products of the Vegetable Kingdom by P. L. Simmonds
http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/15191
Good stuff, very interesting. :)

The Mechanical Properties of Wood by Samuel J. Record
http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/12299
I've been spoiled with a metric upbringing and wouldn't know a pound-per-square-inch if it jumped up and bit me in the leg. That's not the books fault though, it's a good-un.

The Prehistoric World; or, Vanished races by Emory Adams Allen
http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/2873
Read this last year but ploughed through it again. Big download, excellent content.
