I'm reskinning an ashiko hand drum and I have a 12" circle of Goat's skin. Having never worked with skins before I'm wondering what this may be useful for. Any ideas? Cheers.
Hi Androo,
Goatskin retains it's strength and grip abilities even when soaking wet which is why it's used in high end climbing gloves, would also be usefull as a handle wrap where the tool may be used in wet conditions.
Cheers

The title made me chuckle as by definition goat skin comes to us pre-used I have a skewed sense of humour.
My thoughts are along the lines of Samon's, a pouch for flint and steel or tinder.
