i got this on a few of mine during the HT ,...apparently (if its the same effect) its due to using the oxygenated part of the fire,...

i like it and actually aimed for it on one blade but i,m told it does affect the integrity of the metal at some point...

I like the pattern as well. It makes them look more traditional/ handmade and antique to me. All the things I make look like "instant antiques." It's awesome because I love old things!
