Sharpening stone question

Hi guys, my friend gave me this stone before he left UK. Anyone know what kind of stone it is? If it is an oilstone, what oil shall i use for sharpening? Thank you very much

Yes it's an oilstone. It's made of carborundum (silicon carbide) and as seen in the photo, each side is of a different courseness. I use 3-in-one oil.
