Chlorophylls have one absorption peak around 650nm, a fairly deep red and a stronger one in around 450nm, blue. At night with red light most green plants just look kind of black. In theory human night vision is conserved if red light is over 670nm, works in a way.

My Princeton Tech Byte is a good choice, it runs off 2 AAAs and turns on red by default so you do blind yourself by mistake. It's very small and light too

I have recently purchased a Nebo mycro head torch for £12.40. It has both a red light and green light option. Not been able to fully test yet. Hoping to use it at winter moot next week. I bought it on recommendation from a review on Greencrafts YouTube channel recently.

Used the nebo during the winter moot. Run time about 4.5 hours. A bit short in my view as it is brand new. Red mode not very effective in relation to my eyesight. Worth the £12 in my opinion.
