Question about British Smock Sizes (from the USA)

I'm looking to buy a British Desert or MTP smock and need help with sizing. I'm about 6 feet tall, 180 pounds (82 kg) and a 44 inch chest. Ideally, I would like enough room for a thick wool sweater.
Can any one help me out with what British size I should go for? I'm thinking 190/104, but I've heard they're extra loose fit to begin with.

Yes they are they already have a layering allowance built in. About 6'? Most 6 footers take a 180. I'm 5'9" and use a 170.

What you are looking for Will be 180/112. That's what I have and I'm 6' with 44" chest.

Me too. 6' 44" and I agree, a 180/112 will fit you.

at 6'1" I go for a 190 as I find the 180 to be a touch short on the sleeve length

The 190 goves better ar** cover for me too. I use 190/112 at 6'. Thats a generous fit on a 44" chest - I can get a light down jacket or thick fleece under mine
