If you were to decribe the place or post a photo of your ideal spot for a few nights camping, where/what would it be?

Personally, I can't imagine a more idyllic spot than this - absolute heaven. Just look at the spot when viewed from behind the canoe, on the 0:54 mark:

Yup, I'd say that looks just about spot on. In an ideal world there'd be a waterfall as well.

There are lots of waterfalls in norway, but they do make noisy camping spots. I have to agree though that both of those spots look wonderful.

yes both of them are wounderful sites i fully agree but for me its proberly the woods at the side of coniston lake the lake district

Hmm my perfect pitch depends on the day/week I've had!!
Sometimes it's my local woods because I know them so well, sometimes it's completely new territory so I can have a good explore...

It is the remains of one, I couldn't see what it was for though, not enough of the rest of the structure still standing.

It may have had something to do with the construction of the road over Saltfjellet but I don't know.

I thought it was a big sewage outfall, and that explained the water looking a tad foamy

Great thread - you've inspired me to have my first go at posting a picture (having first followed many tutorials . . . hope it works)

This is one of the best places I've camped - you can just see my tent under one of the trees. Camped in some pretty cool places but didn't always take such a good photo!

Still looking for a 'perfect' pitch though.
