Its a bit basic but you could try UK Safari?

I think colins do a pocket guide precisely on small mammals. You could probably get it from your local library. Apart from that... ...UKsafari!

You could also try the Mammal Society. Their fact sheets are quite informative.

Hi Redflex,

What mammals have you spotted in the woods? I've seen lots of deer tracks, a deer scrape, but not seen any deer yet. Have heard and seen woodpeckers, heard barn owls, small eared owls, grey squirrels.

Spotted a badger set, but havent seen any badgers.

Are there any mink, stoats, weasels about?
