I might not be able to bring charcoal. I hope so but Ill be unable to carry it to where Im getting a lift so unless Im able to get some on the way, its simply too much to carry on foot. if someone is able to bring to extra bags I can pay for my share, but Ill have to wait for simon to get back to me first.

I didnt start packing until 21:00, finish at 23:30.

Up again at 6:00 and loaded the car while scraping off ice with the other hand.

I'm now sat in the office looking across the carpark at my pack peeking up at me in the car.

Roll on 3.30

Try Garden Centres for the charcoal, that's where i ended up finding mine.

There is a garden centre just next to the site, but i don't know if they have any in.

Have a good one everyone, see you next time.
Looking forward to trying the pig at west mids meet :)
Hope weather stays nice.:)

Well, I left the site near midnight last night (I have to work this morning) and everyone was having a whale of a time. The fire was blazing, the bottles were doing the circuits, Wayland was telling shaggy dog stories, Mad_Dave was the resident comedian and our dearly departed pig was waiting by the fire. I did hear someone suggest that the cooking would begin at 6am. I was safely snuggled up in my duvet at that time, but I'll be there later this afternoon. I hope I'm still there for the carving :)

Oh yes, and the smoke was mostly vertical (or verical).

Great meet everybody. I do love going to these things, Id have such a boring life of work and mopsing about at home on the internet otherwise if I didnt get out. Which is exactly what Im doing now!
The pig was great and thanks to Bernie and Wayland for the effort put into cooking the pig all day. And cheers for lending me a hammock to, Bernie. Ill be buying myself one ASAP!

Well
Just got back from Middlewood..Very little mud, loads of great folks and a great time was had by myself, Boz and Phil, many thanks everyone. Really enjoyed having a paddle on the lake in Bernie's canoe and the porker was great (so was the pheasant for breakfast). I also won the top prize in the raffle, the handmade, beautifully engraved knife graciously donated by Bernie:D It was great to put some faces to names and I have a few good pics to put up later, but first I gotta have a nice long soak in the bath and unpack...

....Oh !! Hammock underblankets ROCK !!:D

A big thank you to Simon for organising this meet. No mud this time, great. Put a few more faces to names. But we should all have a name baddge on. It would save saying "Hello, who are you". Well got to go now F1 calling.
