Just back from a wee 6 day jaunt up North, breathtaking and frightening, starting with Glenshiel.

The hills were well alight everywhere, Glenshiel, Torridon and Lochinver.

There are fires everywhere. It's a concerna and the ground flora will do well from it. Not so the animals and older trees though.

S. Lanarkshire
Are the majority started by people ? or indeed, are any of them natural outbreaks ?

I know I moan about my garden being sploonging wet, but sometimes there's a lot to be said for a soggy Lanarkshire. I lifted a plant pot on the path today and there were two newts snuggled up under it  the thought of a fire out of control is a terrifying prospect.
