The location is a lovely spot near me in East Yorkshire (don't you just love it when you find somewhere new and beautiful that you never even knew existed?), which has steep wooded valleys, trees of all kinds. Yesterday I saw Buzzards, Red Kites, Kestrels and a Peregrine. The place was a tip off from a guy at a local bird hide. Stunning place, I'm going back today to see if I can get any photos of the Kites. Nice to see birds of prey doing so well close to home.
The reason I mentioned about the birds hunting for sport is that a Gamekeeper with 20 years experience told me this. He has no reason to lie to me and he is also on the same conservation course as I am and is in no way in favour of shooting/poisoning these birds. he has put his old ways behind him.
